Robert
Leroy D'Amore discovered photography while living in Mill Valley,
California. in 1970, he relocated to France where he worked and
studied for ten years. His photographs were first published in
1971 in Paris. Since then his work has been exhibited, published
and collected throughout the world.
After
returning to the United States, Robert specialized in black and
white photography, as well as various printing techniques and
processes, including hand coloring, gum bichromate and toning.
He has developed his own technique of soft focus photographs.
His images range from haunting landscapes to provocative nudes,
and throughout his distinguished career his focus has always remained
in the realm of fine art prints.
This
self-taught photographer catches an oddity of angle, something
entirely unexpected in each picture. In the field of art photography,
Robert has maintained a constant presence for more than thirty
years. His work is widely represented in galleries throughout
Europe and the United States. Robert's photographs sit alongside
the work of photographers such as Walter Chappell, Edward Weston,
Minor White, Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Caponigro and and many others.
Robert's work can be seen in private collections and galleries
around the world.
